ELON’S BEEF, TRUMP’S BILL, AND THE BIG SPENDING DEBATE
In the Current Events Segment of Episode 41 of The Unknown Podcast, co-hosts Richard Luthmann and Michael Volpe come out swinging over Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill.”
Elon Musk reportedly hates it. Why?
Luthmann explains: “He believes there’s pork, carve-outs, and giveaways. He wants a leaner, more efficient government.”
Volpe challenges that narrative. “Tax cuts aren’t spending,” he argues.
But Luthmann warns that lost revenue must be paid for. The two spar over SALT deductions, government efficiency, and Trump’s economic strategy.
Volpe pulls no punches: “Trump loves to spend government money. If he ran his business that way, he’d be bankrupt.”
Luthmann counters with an old Wall Street truth: “When you owe the bank $4 million, it’s your problem. When you owe $400 million, it’s theirs.”
In this segment, Luthmann frames Trump’s debt strategy as economic leverage.
Volpe calls it reckless.
WAR GAMES: MAGA MELTDOWN OVER UKRAINE STRIKE
The Current Events Segment shifts focus to Ukraine’s drone strike on Russian targets.
MAGA hardliners, like former General Mike Flynn, claim the “deep state” acted without Trump’s approval. Flynn insists the attack was unauthorized and aimed at provoking World War III.
Volpe is outraged. “Ukraine doesn’t need Trump’s permission for military operations. Flynn is an idiot wrapped in a moron.”
Luthmann pushes back. “He’s not wrong. Americans are embedded with Ukrainian forces. We’re supplying the weapons. This is our war too.”
They spar over Zelensky’s motives—self-preservation or escalation?
Luthmann defends Trump’s worldview: “Three great powers—China, Russia, and the U.S. Everyone else is a satellite.”
Volpe fires back: “Trump’s Ukraine policy is a failure. His Oval Office meeting with Zelensky will go down as one of the worst foreign policy blunders in history.”
BAD BOY ON TRIAL: RICO OR REACH?
In the heart of the Current Events Segment, Volpe and Luthmann dig into Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal trial. The co-hosts agree the sex trafficking charges are weak.
“There’s no direct link between force, fraud, or coercion and the sex acts,” Volpe says. “Cassie’s testimony is powerful—but not enough.”
But Diddy also faces RICO charges. That’s where things get murky.
Luthmann compares it to the NXIVM cult case. “There, they had collateral—secrets, blackmail, branding. What’s the mechanism here? Just Diddy being a thug?”
Volpe hammers the same point: “They’ve got him doing this in 2018, that in 2020. But how does that prove an enterprise?”
Luthmann says prosecutors have failed to show specific intent. “He returned the $20,000. No mobster ever does that. That’s not extortion. It’s toxic relationship drama.”
Volpe agrees. “Coercive control isn’t a crime. Diddy’s a slimeball. That’s not racketeering.”
Still, Volpe warns that the jury may “split the baby”—convict Diddy on RICO because of his image, not evidence.
Their bottom line: No enterprise, no RICO. “Where’s the structure? Where’s the conspiracy?” asks Luthmann. “This is not the Mafia.”
BIRTHRIGHT BATTLE IGNITES: WHO’S RIGHT?
The Current Events Segment closes with a bang—an explosive debate on birthright citizenship.
Volpe goes constitutional: “If you’re born in the U.S., you’re a citizen. It’s black and white in the 14th Amendment.”
Luthmann slams the brakes. “You’re skipping the key clause—‘subject to the jurisdiction thereof.’ That excludes illegal aliens.”
Volpe dismisses the argument. “Once you’re here, you’re subject to our laws. That’s jurisdiction.”
Luthmann fires back: “Wong Kim Ark in 1898 only covered legal immigrants. The Supreme Court has never ruled on birthright citizenship for illegals. And the 14th Amendment was written to overturn Dred Scott—not to hand citizenship to the children of people here illegally.”
Volpe calls that revisionism.
“You’re making stuff up. The Constitution says what it says. All persons born here are citizens.”
The segment ends with the two locked in constitutional combat—Volpe defending a plain-text reading, Luthmann anchoring his case in historical intent and legal nuance.
THE UNKNOWN’S KNIFE-EDGE ANALYSIS DELIVERS AGAIN
The Current Events Segment of Episode 41 of The Unknown Podcast delivers political heat, legal firepower, and unfiltered debate. Luthmann and Volpe break down Trump’s spending, U.S. foreign policy, Diddy’s legal peril, and one of America’s most explosive constitutional controversies.
It’s raw. It’s real. And it doesn’t pull punches.
This isn’t your average news roundup. It’s a no-holds-barred fight for truth—Luthmann and Volpe style.
