Now, a last-minute change threatens public access to the court proceedings.
The Court changed the hearing over to a LIVESTREAM via the NJCourts.gov website.
The hearing is supposed to be virtual, and supporters, court watchers, and members of the press are encouraged to attend.
The Court’s last-minute change says the proceeding will be labeled STATUS CONFERENCE - FM-07-1541-24.
If you have problems, the phone number for the Court Attorney is (973) 776-9280 x56882.
At 10:50 am. there is no LIVESTREAM for Monica Ciardi’s Hearing.
Under Richmond Newspapers v. Virginia (1980) and In re VV Pub. Corp. (1990), the public has a constitutional right to access criminal proceedings unless specific findings justify closure. Activists insist that transparency is critical in exposing the alleged corruption behind Ciardi’s unlawful prosecution.
The public Zoom link was previously provided, ensuring nationwide access to this pivotal court appearance.
Now, family court watchers are waiting for the LIVESTREAM at 11:00 am.
If you have problems, the phone number for the Court Attorney is (973) 776-9280 x56882.
The first judge has been telling Monica that she represents the Family Court and the next judge will address the "criminal matter." Will that be livestreamed via this same link?
This morning, Monica started talking about how a new officer reviewed a 55 page summary of the case and that it is full of made up charges. Yet, she has been incarcerated four months. She believes she has been released on plea in the last 24 hours.
Some funny stuff is happening here. . .
They want us to watch the livestream on their website so that our locations can be captured. The judge said that this change is to accommodate the increasing number of Court observers.
I contacted tmarkey@co.morris.nj.us & MGwyn@co.morris.nj.us on 2/10/2025. I received a response on 2/12/2025 Lt. Thomas Markey (tmarkey@co.morris.nj.us) at Morris County Sheriff’s Department, who said (with Anthony Lotz copied, alotz@co.morris.nj.us): "This case has been transferred to Essex County. All inquiries regarding it can be directed to the Essex County Correctional Facility. Thank you." Clearly, he thinks his hands are washed clean of it, but he has not provided the official cause for transfer and it is clear that both Essex and Morris are inconvenient forums without jurisdiction. The more her condition deteriorates, the worse it will be for all involved. Basically, the infection is rising to the surface, include Patrick Farrell on this thread.
On 2/11/2025, I clicked the link for the hearing. I heard Cello was talking about how ridiculous it is that they are removing non-parties. He spoke of the leverage they are building as the public becomes more knowledgeable. Michelle Newell started talking before a Court representative asked her to stop. I saw the judge and heard her speak of Giardi, still incarcerated at the jail.
