EXCLUSIVE: NYC Mayor’s Fav Spot Sei Less Plays Dirty, Swindles NYC Streets!
Coned Off: VIP Parking Sham Robs NYC Blind While Adams, NYPD Do Nothing!
Midtown Manhattan's Sei Less, a trendy speakeasy, has been bypassing city parking laws since its January 2022 debut. Behind its hidden entrance, the Asian fusion venue has orchestrated a controversial parking scam, exploiting city streets and cheating New York City taxpayers.
Each evening, staff members start their well-rehearsed routine. Approaching 6 PM, they strategically place cones falsely labeled as belonging to ConEd, the Water Department, and even some from Philadelphia to unlawfully claim public parking spots. This ensures reserved parking for the restaurant's elite clientele as city regulations switch from commercial to public availability.
The operation's linchpin, a man in a yellow vest, actively patrols the area. He prevents regular drivers from parking in these spaces, saving them for Sei Less's guests. These visitors, arriving in high-end cars such as Ferraris and Teslas, enjoy prime parking without paying fees, directly flouting city rules.
The scandal doesn't end on the streets; it extends into Sei Less's glitzy interior, which draws celebrities and city elites, including Mayor Eric Adams and stars like Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg. Notably, the restaurant hosted an album release party for Mayor Adams' son, Jordan Coleman, in March 2023, indicating close ties with the city's power players.
Despite its attempt to carve a niche in the high-end dining scene, the establishment's parking malpractices overshadow its culinary ambitions. Sei Less was reported to the NYPD for its parking shenanigans - Internal Affairs Report Number 2023-4278 details the hair-brained parking scheme. Even the Keystone Cops could crack the case when NYC parking spots are “officially saved” using cones marked “PHILA. WATER DEPT.”
Mayor Adams' frequent visits, including a notable 2022 Father's Day celebration for rapper French Montana's album release, spotlight the venue's connections and raise questions about ethical boundaries. Did the mayor put the kibosh on the Internal Affairs report?
By reserving public parking spaces for private use, Sei Less breaks city laws and robs New York City of essential parking meter revenue. They’ve been brazenly doing it for over two years. This revenue could support various public services and city improvements. Mayor Adams is NYC’s top law enforcement officer. What happens when the NYPD - and seemingly even Internal Affairs - looks the other way for their friends?
The Sei Less scam highlights a deeper issue of privilege and misuse of public assets by private entities. It calls for accountability and fair use of City streets. But who will call for official scrutiny if NYC officials are being “wined, dined, and pocket lined?”
Surely not Hizzoner. Of him, we know three things:
Eric Adams eats a plant-based diet.
At Sei Less, the vegan mayor opts for vegetable lettuce wraps, edamame dumplings, and fried rice.
Dinner and parking costs more than $10.
