Kamillah Hanks Visits Kenny Mitchell at Staten Island Zoo Looking For Job
One-Term NYC Councilmember Kamillah Hanks Looks For Soft Landing as the SI Zoo's New Beastmaster
Staten Island, NY - This past week, Staten Island’s least corrupt Public Official, Groundhog SI Chuck, did not see his shadow early Thursday during the Staten Island Zoo’s annual Groundhog Day ceremony, signaling springtime is near.
Gathered with One-time, One-Term Councilman and Staten Island Zoo Executive Director Kenny Mitchell were Jessica Scarcella-Spanton (Senator Snooki’s replacement), Smiling Jack the Political Hack - Staten Island District Attorney “Tax Hike Mike” McMahon, Assemblyman (and the next Chairman of the SI Democrat Party once Heastie and Stewart-Cousins get their way) Charles Fall, Assemblyman and Republican Chairman Michael Tannousis, Kamillah “Queen Crime” Hanks, and others (I did David Carr a favor and obscured his giant dome of a head).
While springtime may be coming, Team Hanks is worried they will be left out in the cold. Once the ceremony was over, Queen Crime’s paramour, the LOVE-ly Sir Walter Raleigh, was overhead cornering Kenny Mitchell in the Ralph Lamberti Reptile Wing next to the millennia-old decaying carcass of Guy Molinari.
“Mitch, you gotta retire, man. Kamillah needs this soft landing, and you’ve got plenty of years in. You got beat in your first term. You know what it’s like,” Sir Walter Raliegh said.
“But I can’t leave. I have a bond with the animals. I am one of them,” Mitch replied.
According to one elected official’s staffer, Team Hanks is in trouble. No one likes her. “She called me a liar nine months ago. On top of that, she hasn’t been to our NYCHA facility since. It’s like she doesn’t care,” said an unnamed NYCHA Resident Association President. “All I have to say is that this didn’t happen under Councilwoman Rose,” she said.
And this experience is not an isolated incident. Another NYCHA Resident Association President complained that Queen Crime was trying to steal credit for projects previously funded by Councilmember Rose. “We love Jessica. It’s just like Diane is still here. But the Councilwoman and her office leave a lot to be desired. And we’ll let them know about it on Election Day,” she said.
But who will challenge Queen Crime in the upcoming Democrat Primary? The question is more like, “Who won’t?” The inside favorite is Amoy Barnes, who narrowly lost to Hanks in 2021. Barnes already has a committee, name recognition, significant backing on Staten Island’s North Shore and beyond, and potentially an endorsement from Former Councilmember Debi Rose, who is beloved by the people.
Staten Island Northshore Assemblyman and power broker Charles Fall may also put his hands into the North Shore Council race, particularly if he gets the directive from Albany leadership. Fall’s girlfriend, Bianca Rajpersaud, already has a foothold of support and name recognition, having run for the NYS Senate Seat left vacant by Diane Savino’s retirement.
Albany is unhappy with the results of the recent election of SI Dems Chair Laura Sword, who is perceived as a McMahon shill. And Albany leadership remains unhappy with DA Mike McMahon, who opposes progressive policies like criminal justice reform at every turn, notably locking horns with Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg and NYC Comptroller Brad Lander. Albany is looking for a “trap door” for the McMahon establishment, and placing Bianca Rajpersaud in the NYC Council may become part of that plan.
Kamillah Hanks also faces campaign finance troubles all of her own making. She failed to pay a political consultant $14,000 for work on her 2017 campaign. To make matters worse, she failed to report either the engagement with the consultant or the in-kind contribution for the services rendered to the NYC Campaign Finance Board. This is a huge no-no. Just ask Scott Levenson, who got pinged for the same thing on Melissa Mark-Viverito’s campaign in 2016.
Can Queen Crime lose her matching funds in 2023? The short answer is yes.
Queen Crime is already in a real pickle because the NYC Campaign Finance Board (CFB) is investigating her campaign shenanigans. When the CFB finds out her Campaign Committee owes over $100,000 in UNREPORTED and UNPAID legal, political consulting, and other fees and expenses, the CFB will be obligated to take drastic actions. At least seven individuals identified were not paid for service rendered to Team Hank’s 2017 City Council Campaign, and no reports of these engagements were noted on the CFB reports.
But the bigger question is: “Who is JASON REYNALD?”
He appears on the Kamillah Hanks Campaign Reports with the New York City Campaign Finance Board. He was a “Consultant.” He made $9,645.00. Who is he?
I thought Scott Levenson and The Advance Group were Queen Crime’s consultants. Does Scott know who “JASON REYNALD” is? Curious. You would think that a Political Consultant of Scott Levenson’s ilk would read the CFB reports - at least for his candidate. Scott will probably be very truthful when questioned, given his previous “troubles.”
Did “JASON REYNALD” sign a W-9? Was this properly reported for NYS income tax purposes? Doesn’t the NY AG look into that “tax stuff”?
At least “Kamillah M. Hanks” doesn’t know anything about it, right?
Are there Federal tax issues? Conspiring to avoid issuing a 1099 could be an issue if the Feds snooping around a Sir Walter Raleigh “cash for access” scheme.
Before they get a dollar in matching funds, Team Hanks will have to pay all the outstanding sums owed AND all of the CFB’s enforcement penalties, which are often treble damages. Sometimes the CFB gives the “Death Penalty” - disqualification from the matching funds program. Just ask the new Staten Island Democrat Party Chair, Laura Sword. She was an officer with the Democratic Organization of Richmond County (DORC) when their NYC Mayoral candidate, John Liu, was disqualified based on campaign finance shenanigans.
NOVEMBER IS COMING
November is Coming. Who will survive? Probably not Kamillah Hanks’ matching funds. Her campaign owes over $100,000 in bonafide fees. Not only didn’t Kamillah Hanks For Council fail to pay, but they also failed to report the expenditures / in-kind contributions to the NYC Campaign Finance Board. Who’s going to give her any money if she’s going to lose the primary?
WHAT’S NEXT?
Is there more? Of course, there is more.

There will be many more Enemies to receive their comeuppance. What new Enemies will show their faces and then be shown the Luthmann Inquisition followed by the legal and political Death Chamber? Which members of the Swamp should be worried? What other persons may become collateral damage in this story? And who exactly is on “THE LIST” Luthmann spent the past four years making?
Stay tuned—much more to come.
