Luthmann Said It First: The Original Spy Theory
In January 2023, Richard Luthmann threw a bombshell on a talk radio show. He argued that Jeffrey Epstein was not a mere millionaire playboy, but a nation-state agent running a global blackmail ring.
Luthmann told listeners Epstein was “a spook, … CIA or Israeli Mossad, or … working for both.”
He pointed out that Epstein’s meteoric rise on Wall Street was impossible without outside backing. Epstein entered Goldman Sachs at an entry level and somehow became a partner in four years, without clocking 120-hour workweeks, Luthmann noted.
Instead of crunching numbers, Epstein was “running around on yachts… all over the world,” Luthmann said.
Luthmann laid out the pattern: Epstein’s mysterious wealth and access came from spycraft, not traditional finance.
“He [Epstein] went in the entry level position [at Goldman Sachs] and within four years he was a partner… And his job was to trap people… in compromising positions, monetarily or sexually… and basically blackmail them to do the work of the United States government or the Israeli government or … some other intelligence organization.”
In other words, Epstein’s real client was a government, not a rich tycoon. Luthmann noted that Epstein had “only one client we know of” – and far from a client list of billionaires, “he didn’t have anybody to speak of.”
That pointed to a state sponsor: “his client is a nation state… the US government or the Israeli government or… something else of that ilk”.
Luthmann also questioned Epstein’s official suicide. He helped research Frank Report articles using fresh medical evidence from Epstein’s brother.
According to Luthmann, experts concluded Epstein would have had to be “some type of acrobat” to kill himself in the Metropolitan Correction Center, the Manhattan federal jail, the way he was found.
There was “no way that a human could have done it in the way he did unless they were a Cirque de Soleil performer.”
In Luthmann’s view, the “suicide” and a missing dossier of files suggest a deep-state cover-up. He calls the whole theory a “pretty cool narrative to chase down.”
In short, Luthmann was one of the first to publicly suggest Epstein was a spy.
He supported it with concrete points – the Goldman Sachs rise, the single client, and the jailhouse death – implying a state-backed operation.
Luthmann Said It First: Carlson’s Narrative Twist
Later in 2025, former Fox News icon Tucker Carlson swept in with the same rumor. Carlson told a conservative audience, “Everyone in Washington” secretly believes Epstein was a Mossad operative.
He openly speculated that Epstein was “blackmailing people involved in his sex trafficking scheme on behalf of the Mossad.”
Luthmann says Carlson sensationalized the theory – and added a nativist, anti-Israel spin that no one else had stressed.
Luthmann had explicitly named both U.S. and Israeli agencies as possible sponsors. He spoke in measured “theory” terms – his words on the radio show are cautious (“my theory… trying to get facts…”).
Carlson, by contrast, spoke in absolutes for dramatic effect. He painted Epstein as a lone Mossad blackmailer du jour, leaving out Luthmann’s balance.
Israel’s intelligence leaders publicly denounced Carlson’s claims as false, but by then the tale was trending.
In other words, Luthmann laid out a detailed case eighteen months ago on fringe media. Carlson ran with a hyped version on a megaphone platform to fit a narrative.
The former Fox host’s version traded nuance for shock headlines, crediting Israel for Epstein’s crimes. Luthmann’s core point – that Epstein’s handlers were spymasters – was magnified into a blame-Israel spectacle.
Observers note Carlson’s framing lacked evidence-backed caution, accusing Carlson of “sensationalism” even as he pushed the same basic narrative.
“You want a definition of yellow journalism? That’s it,” Luthmann said. “If I were a crooked CIA spook, wouldn’t I spread the word around Washington that it was ‘The Jews’ all along? It reeks of an active measure by Brennan, Comey, and Clapper. I thought Tucker was better than that. Whether he knows it or not, he’s simping for the deep state.”
Luthmann Said It First: Cover-Up and Cleanup
To Luthmann, all this isn’t just clickbait. He treats the Epstein saga as a national-security firestorm that must be suppressed.
He warns that exposing the whole truth would “destroy faith” in institutions like the CIA, FBI, and State Department. In the wake of Epstein’s death, records vanished and denials piled up.
For example, in February, Attorney General Pam Bondi claimed a full “client list” of Epstein’s was sitting on her desk. The Justice Department now says no such list existed.
To Luthmann, that only appears to be a convenient cover story. And the rumored investigation and prosecution of Brennan, Comey, Clapper, and the deep state is at the center.
Online sleuths and alternative media have even floated the idea of a coordinated federal “cleanup” operation, with files missing, evidence destroyed, or redacted.
Luthmann suggests that a buried dossier might name powerful figures who were kept out of prison in exchange for silence. He cites incidents like Epstein’s strange jail death and the wiped records as clues.
In his telling, all roads lead back to an intelligence cover-up.
Luthmann has said he thinks that, in due time, and perhaps through a federal prosecution, the truth will come out. Only then can America reclaim its values.
“An imminent federal prosecution of the deep state fits this fact pattern. Why else would President Trump and AG Bondi not open the files for all to see?” Luthmann said. “One reason is that they are building a case, and indictments are coming.”
Luthmann believes that the short-term hit that Pam Bondi and the DOJ are taking makes sense if the long-term reward is a historic prosecution aimed at rooting out government corruption.
“This is more than Epstein. It’s more than gossip,” Luthmann said. “It’s President Trump keeping his promise to the American people to dismantle the deep state once and for all, and usher in the ‘New American Golden Age.’ That makes sense.”
The message is that we can’t move forward until the real rot behind the Epstein case, the deep state’s stranglehold on our government, is fully exposed.
“Always remember where we were, and where President Trump is taking us,” Luthmann said.
