A recent decision by New York State Supreme Court Justice Ronald Castorina Jr. is sending shockwaves through the legal community and beyond. As reported by renowned investigative journalist Frank Parlato in the Frank Report, Justice Castorina issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Guy Simonetti, a retired and disabled NYPD detective and revered 9/11 responder:
9/11 Responder’s Life Threatened by Judge Castorina’s Ruling: Lawyers Must Be Paid
This drastic action stems from Simonetti’s inability to pay substantial legal fees to his wife’s attorneys in a divorce case. This financial burden has already drained his savings and pension.
Living in Florida, Simonetti, who retired in 2003 after a valiant service during the 9/11 attacks and their aftermath, has been struggling with deteriorating health. His condition, compounded by Factor V Leiden and Factor V deficiency, puts him at grave risk of developing life-threatening blood clots and bleeding complications.
Despite these alarming medical risks, Justice Castorina, known for his uncompromising approach in matrimonial cases, has remained indifferent to Simonetti’s plight.
The judge’s decision to issue a bench warrant threatens Simonetti’s health. It forces him to bear the financial burden of transporting himself to New York, estimated to cost around $6,000.
Parlato highlights Justice Castorina’s seemingly harsh stance, especially in dealing with law enforcement officers. He has made similarly stringent decisions in past rulings, like ordering a retired officer to surrender his World Trade Center Victim’s Compensation Funds during a divorce case.
These actions, coupled with accusations of perjury in a 2018 grand jury testimony, paint a picture of a judge with a troubling judicial philosophy and an even more unsettling past:

Castorina sent the message that lawyer’s fees are exalted above all things. The hard stance is ironic, as former lawyer Richard Luthmann is suing Castorina for unpaid legal and consulting fees stemming from Castorina’s political activity as an NYS Assemblyman:

For Simonetti, who now represents himself pro se, the consequences of this ruling are dire. If forced to travel, he faces severe health risks, potentially life-threatening.
Justice Castorina’s decision affects Simonetti and sends a stern message to police officers and first responders across New York, emphasizing the judge’s cruel judicial demeanor, regardless of the individual circumstances or sacrifices of those involved.
Factor V Leiden is a common medical condition controlled with warfarin which is a blood thinner so hypothetically you’re safer flying than the average person. He’s been doing this essentially for over 25+ years without losing his legs this is all a plot to try to help to himself. Chikita do you eat his banana that’s how you steal someone’s husband! Think again it’s not the witch nor the scorned wife.
What the f __k?
