Exclusive: Jill Jones Soderman exposes Richard Gardner’s twisted legacy, including shocking details on his suicide and the misuse of Parental Alienation in family courts.
Let's set the record straight. I'm not wealthy. I'm a middle class mother for the state of Connecticut. I live on the other side of the Connecticut River. I have spoken to several other mothers from all different economic walks of society. Women in Connecticut are having with the family court. Having parental alienation claims and threats used against them. CT inside investigator Best interest series. Not a wealthy mother. In an effort to understand how the court system could be so screwed up I have done plenty of research. It's my personal opinion that a majority of the parental alienation theory made it's way into family court system through the welfare reform act and responsible fatherhood. . $1,289,849, 064. Since 2008 in health and human services funding. ( HHS tags/gov). The welfare reform and responsible fatherhood started in the state of Connecticut. Currently the state of Connecticut has a memorandum of understanding for fatherhood with the majority of Connecticut agencies including the judicial branch and child support enforcement services. Must comply with the fatherhood initiative mission in order to receive funding. Legislation " all Connecticut father's to be engaged in the lives of their children". ( With funding attached). The strategic planning for the fatherhood initiative. " Prioritize fatherhood over criminal matters". The initiative is not just for incarcerated fathers. It's not just a minority community project. The Richard Gardner theory appears to have made it's way into the courts during the beginning of the welfare reform and responsible fatherhood initiative. An article started to appear in the New York times with Dr. Pine. The term gatekeeper started in the fatherhood initiative and appears to have morphed into Malicious mommy syndrome/ parental alienation. Due to the lack of professional backing in the psychology world, now there is a push for mouchousen mommy. Munchousen by proxy. There has been a great deal of push back now that women are coming forward. All terms and conditions targeted at women. It would be interesting to have an accurate number of the health care funding for research on parental alienation. The HHS funding for self reported studies. How much is the fatherhood initiative effect the public defender office partner where the GAls are? How much does the fatherhood initiative effect the prosecutor's office in prioritizing fatherhood over criminal matters? Including domestic violence charges? Coupled with criminal justice reform? Including the interdictions of sex offeners registry/initiative by Connecticut Senitors? With 30,000 members of the PA group what is the breakdown of Connecticut residents, residents in the US and other countries? How many of the women have been accused of parental alienation , extreme gatekeeping ( the newest term) munchousen by proxy and neglect/abuse. How many of those woman where in poverty or driven to it? Since the welfare reform is based on the economic growth and development of the country. Don't want to provide financial assistance through the TANF block grant funding. As well as funding for victim services? Why is a thesis paper on school shootings targeting singles mothers being used? This is from Uconn fatherhood initiative Dr. Of philosophy. No policy maker support a correlation. There is no break down on single parent household from incarceration, widows, widowers and abuse cases. . How is the states making money off child support when the nation is in trillion dollars worth of erreages? It's appearing that the state of Connecticut at least is making money off the funding to their state agencies through the fatherhood initiative. Including the Connecticut coalition on domestic violence. All appearing to bias the family court system and ignoring child welfare. We can use fatherhood funding for media coverage. Spotlight on DCF cases, but women are criticized for speaking out? Let's cover all the family court system issues.
A counterpoint on Dr. Richard Gardner and Jill Jones Soderman's opinion from a well-known advocate (I'm trying to get her to come on the show):
I knew Dr. Gardner personally since I was 5 years old. I am now 64. So don’t believe everything you are told. He was my therapist. I went to school with his children. And my best friends hung at his house. He never ever inappropriately touched anyone.
These attacks and lies about Richard came about when he was ordered to testify as an expert in several family cases where the mothers had alienated their children from the fathers. They decided since he followed the science of toddler behaviors that proved toddlers, until they are properly directed about manners, will mistakenly fondle or touch their own private parts in exploration. This was turned around as him being a pedophile. Check the child science for yourself to find out that this is a normal toddler behavior and not indicative of sexual abuse. To be sexual abuse, the toddlers would have to be doing the fondling to others, not themselves. These are just vindictive women.
In fact, going back as far as 1997, this group of women were attacking me for standing up for Richard. My username at the time was putzangel. Apparently, the word “putz’ means a part of the penis. Their attacks consisted in calling me a penis lover. My response? Well, I would hope so since I am heterosexual. This is how crazy making these women are. This is how irrational these women are.
What he wrote in his books is real. It's pro pedophile BS. I never said ge was a pedophile but ge stood up for them, including Woody Allen. He was involved in many cases and always disbelieved allegations of sexual molestation.
$708 k secured funding for the initiative, by one person. Involved in the study of parental alienation/Richard Gardner theory. Secured by one person in social Work. 56 grants. Is this why the state of Connecticut is promoting more male social worker in the state. An objective in the state wide fatherhood initiative in Connecticut. There is a lot of money it seems that promotes a better image of Richard Gardner and his theories.
Those of working for "family" court reform over the past 15-20+ years (or more) know that the entire Dr. Gardner story has been a long beaten to dead horse, endlessly recycled, and used as a scapegoat for those trying to debunk the reality of PA and those working against shared and equal parenting.
Whatever one doctor may or may not have written DECADES ago has absolutely no relevance on the underlying causes of "family" court corruption. It detracts from what we need to focus on and be doing.
It's well past time we moved on, instead endlessly spinning our wheels and getting stuck in this gender-based nonsense.
Let's talk about what makes sense then. Let's do some simple math.
There are over 30,000 parents that belong to Parental Alienation Facebook groups. A few hundred wealthy women claim PA doesn't exist and is being used against them to keep them from seeing their children. (And yes, false claims are very common on "family" court - see below.)
More than a few of those women are extremists who believe mothers should automatically get full custody in a divorce and work tooth and nail against equal and shared custody and to cut fathers and families out of their kid's lives.
(Equal and shared custody recognizing the fundamental and federally protected rights of BOTH parents should be the standard - absent a finding of abuse or neglect determined in a court of evidence and law. Which "family" courts are not.)
I guess 30,000+ parents (men and women) are making up being cut out of their children's lives for no reason and/or based on false claims of abuse manufactured against them by their ex's attorneys and the courts.
Dumb argument. It's real because lots if people belong to Facebook groups. PA is whatever each person wants it to be. You can get lots of people to be in groups since whatever happened theperson calls it PA.
Mike, he did not "create PA." He's a man who wrote a paper - DECADES ago.
What one man wrote DECADES AGO has absolutely nothing to do with "family" court corruption and the state sponsored trafficking of children for money. At all.
Seeing people still stuck in this nonsense and repeating it over and over again, like a broken record we can't stop, is beyond the point of absurdity.
As noted, it's well past time we stop getting stuck in this gender-based nonsense - as the Divorce Industry laughs at us. But knock yourself out ;-)
Right Mike, one guy wrote something decades ago that has caused millions of parents to have their divorce attorneys encourage them to make false claims of abuse against their former partners in "family" court in order to keep their children from seeing them and their families. Got it ;-)

The guy who created PA is a quack and a pro pedophile freak, but the concept is totally real. That makes sense.
Let's talk about what makes sense then. Let's do some simple math.

Divorce Industry 101.

He created PA. This is howfar proponents will go.

He didn't just write it. He testified in many custody cases. I interviewed Richard Ducote, who cross-examined him in two cases.
