By Richard Luthmann
On the latest episode of The Unknown Podcast, investigative journalists Michael Volpe and Richard Luthmann pulled no punches. From dismantling a New York Times hit piece on Kash Patel to dissecting allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs, the duo tackled the media’s role in misinformation, cancel culture run amok, and even a looming national security threat posed by a controversial TikTok influencer.
NY Times Called On "Fake News" About Kash Patel
Volpe kicked off the episode by lambasting the New York Times for its portrayal of Kash Patel’s role in the Benghazi investigation. Quoting the piece, Volpe highlighted how the Times claimed Patel “exaggerated his importance,” reducing him to a “gopher.”
Richard Luthmann didn’t hold back.
“This is textbook fake news,” he said. “It comes from the New York Slimes, the biggest purveyor of fake news we’ve ever seen.”
He dismissed the article’s reliance on anonymous sources, calling it a tactic to undermine conservatives like Patel.
“It comes from unnamed sources within the FBI—probably James Comey himself. This is the New York Slimes trying to discredit someone who dared to go against the establishment.”
“Do you really think anyone in the FBI wanted to lead the Benghazi investigation, knowing Hillary Clinton could be the next president? The careerists set him up as the fall guy,” Luthmann declared.
He continued: “This is about smearing a true believer who wouldn’t bow to Hillary Clinton’s shadow over a crucial investigation. Read correctly, these facts make him infinitely qualified.”
Volpe played devil’s advocate, suggesting Patel “bolsters his resume like a lot of people do.” Still, both hosts agreed that the article was a smear campaign.
“If Patel’s contributions were insignificant, why is the media so desperate to discredit him?” Volpe asked pointedly.
Sean Combs Allegations: A Pattern of Abuse?
Volpe then turned his attention to the mounting allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Reading from court affidavits, Volpe recounted a chilling account: “One witness said they saw Combs offer a drink, after which the victim passed out. Then he overpowered and assaulted him.”
Luthmann compared Combs’ alleged behavior to Bill Cosby’s.
“It’s the same playbook,” he said. “Date rape drugs, manipulation, and exploitation.”
Paul Boyne Got Screwed: Judicial Overreach in Connecticut
The case of Paul Boyne, jailed for inflammatory online comments, elicited outrage from the hosts. Boyne allegedly wrote, “Judge X deserves a 50-cal to the head,” leading to an 18-month incarceration. Volpe criticized the selective enforcement of speech laws.
“If a socialist can put CEOs’ faces on T-shirts with bullseyes, why is Boyne sitting in jail for less?”
Luthmann added, “This is a blatant violation of free speech. They’re targeting him because he’s a conservative in a liberal state like Connecticut.”
Volpe emphasized the double standard, discussing the case of William Maisano.
“Protected speech shouldn’t depend on your politics,” he said, pointing out that more egregious statements elsewhere have gone unpunished.
SCOTUS Doxxer Danesh Noshirvan: Is Cancel Culture a National Security Threat?
Luthmann described TikTok influencer Danesh Noshirvan as a provocateur who doxxes private citizens and public figures alike.
“He posted the home addresses of Supreme Court justices after the Dobbs decision. Shortly after, Brett Kavanaugh received a death threat,” Luthmann revealed.
Volpe noted that Noshirvan’s actions have escalated, leading to the suicide of a Texas coach falsely accused of misconduct.
Luthmann recounted the ordeal of Jennifer Couture, a Florida woman targeted by Noshirvan’s followers after a parking lot dispute.
“The mob descended on her, flooding local government offices with thousands of emails and calls, demanding she be arrested,” Luthmann said.
Couture eventually pleaded guilty to battery, but Luthmann argued the charges were influenced by harassment campaigns.
“This is weaponized lawfare,” he said. “Noshirvan is exploiting woke mobs to ruin lives, and the system is letting him get away with it.”
Volpe added, “Cancel culture isn’t about accountability—it’s about power. The left preaches tolerance but practices the opposite when it suits their agenda.”
“This man is dangerous,” Luthmann said.
Luthmann suggested Noshirvan’s Cancel Culture activities might be linked to foreign influence operations.
“There are over 100 complaints about this guy. Law enforcement sources tell me he’s on the FBI radar,” he said, adding, “We’re investigating whether he’s an unwitting agent of the Chinese Communist Party, sowing division in America.”
Volpe questioned why no action had been taken.
“If he’s a known threat, what’s the holdup? The longer this goes unchecked, the more damage he does,” he said.
Syria “Fanboy” Punditry and Tucker Carlson’s Gaffes
The conversation shifted to Syria, where Volpe highlighted growing optimism over the country’s new de facto leader.
“Some are calling this a pleasant surprise,” Volpe said, referencing reports praising the leader’s initial diplomacy.
Luthmann dismissed the optimism, calling it a “rehash of Yasser Arafat’s playbook.” He declared, “Israel has every right to turn half those countries into glass. Diplomacy is a facade—they’ll stab you the second they think they can.”
Volpe shifted gears to critique a Tucker Carlson interview promoting the narrative that the U.S. started the Syrian civil war. Volpe countered with the story of Syrian activist Fadwa Suleiman, who opposed the Assad regime.
“She risked everything to show the world that not all Alawites support Assad. We didn’t start the war—people like her did,” Volpe argued.
“Tucker’s nodding along to garbage. He should do better as a journalist. He did the same thing with Putin,” Luthmann said.
Luthmann dismissed the idea that the U.S. was at fault outright.
“The U.S. didn’t start anything in Syria. Assad’s regime is the root cause of its suffering,” he said. “And if you really want the root causes in that region, you have to go back 5,000 years.”
“Cash for Kids” Clemency Sparks Outrage
The hosts turned their ire toward President Biden’s recent commutation of Michael Conahan’s sentence, one of two judges involved in the notorious “Kids for Cash” scandal.
Volpe laid out the shocking details: “Conahan and another judge were taking bribes from for-profit juvenile detention centers. In return, they imposed harsh sentences on over a thousand kids—truancy, talking back to teachers, minor offenses—and funneled them into these facilities. Some kids committed suicide. Many more were left with lifelong scars.”
Luthmann didn’t mince words.
“This is worse than Gerald Ford’s pardon of Nixon. Ford had a reason to do what he did—this is pure political rot. Conahan violated the public trust in one of the most despicable ways imaginable, preying on children for money.”
Biden’s decision to grant clemency to Conahan, Luthmann argued, sent the wrong message about accountability for public officials.
“Judges are supposed to be the backbone of justice. When they betray that trust, the punishment should be severe. Instead, Conahan gets a free pass,” Luthmann said.
Volpe added, “This was a RICO case—a criminal enterprise run by judges. They were mafia dons in black robes. How does Biden justify this clemency?”
The duo agreed that clemency undermines faith in the justice system.
“If the president can wipe away this kind of crime, what’s the point of having laws?” Luthmann asked. “This is a slap in the face to every victim of the Kids for Cash scandal.”
SCUMBAG LAWYER OF THE WEEK, Presented by Chicago’s Beermann LLP
Luthmann and Volpe named this week’s “Scumbag Lawyer of the Week.” The dubious honor went to an attorney who impregnated a client, secretly married her, and kept representing her.
“Was that wrong?” Luthmann joked, mimicking a famous Seinfeld scene. “Should I not have done that?”
Volpe teased upcoming investigations into political pardons and embezzlement, promising more bombshells in future episodes.
Additionally, the journalists conducted a full interview with Family Court Fraud Warrior David Weigel. That interview will be released separately because of its length and the importance of the topics covered.
A Call to Action
The Unknown Podcast continues to challenge conventional narratives and expose injustices, whether through Volpe’s meticulous investigations or Luthmann’s fiery rhetoric. As the duo pushes boundaries, one thing is clear—they won’t back down from the fight for truth.
