The Wonder Bread WOPs Plotting Against Trump: Cifu, Scaramucci, and Gasparino
DISGRAZIAD! These so-called Italian Americans have betrayed their roots – all in a desperate attempt to sabotage Trump.
By Richard Luthmann
A curious alliance of Wall Street’s most assimilated Italian Americans has emerged against Donald Trump. Dubbed "Wonder Bread WOPs," these suburbanized Italians – Doug Cifu, Anthony Scaramucci, and Charlie Gasparino – have forsaken traditional Italian values like loyalty, respect, and honor in pursuing personal vendettas and financial gain.
While outwardly they appear to be mainstream Wall Streeters, their disgraziad (disgraceful) behavior raises serious questions about motives, methods, and loyalty, particularly as their combined efforts undermine Trump through personal and financial attacks have failed miserably.
The Wonder Bread WOPs’ Disgraziad Behavior
In Italian culture, values like loyalty and honor are paramount. Family comes first, relationships are built on trust, and betrayal is a lasting shame. Yet Cifu, Scaramucci, and Gasparino have defied these principles in their open campaign against Trump, a move that Italians would see as disgraziad behavior, dishonorable, and without integrity.
The term “Wonder Bread WOP” fits them perfectly: it describes Italians who’ve assimilated so thoroughly into suburban American life that they’ve forgotten the cultural roots they came from.
Their vendettas and relentless public attacks on Trump are not only disloyal but reflect poorly on their own heritage. Italians, after all, have a saying: “La famiglia è tutto” – family is everything. The Wonder Bread WOPs’ willingness to throw away these values for personal gain or petty revenge makes them the definition of disgraziad.
Cifu Discussion/Naked Shorts on Truth Social: A Financial Attack on Trump
Doug Cifu, CEO of Virtu Financial, was once a vocal supporter of Trump, seeing him as bullish for America in 2017.
By 2023, Virtu Financial, the high-frequency trading firm Cifu co-founded, was hit with a damning SEC lawsuit. Allegations that Virtu misled clients about data protection protocols might have been the catalyst for Cifu’s switch to anti-Trump, possibly in hopes of gaining establishment favor and leniency amid legal woes.
Now, Cifu appears to be leading a financial assault on Trump’s media platform, Truth Social, by engaging in aggressive short-selling, particularly naked shorts.
Naked shorting, which allows sellers to drive down a stock’s value without actually borrowing shares, is a highly controversial and potentially illegal tactic. The mere suspicion that Virtu Financial is deploying such a tactic against Truth Social raises red flags.
Shorting Truth Social stock is not an incidental business decision—it’s a targeted attack that damages Trump’s financial interests and his media platform. Naked shorting increases the number of shares available on the market, artificially inflating supply and driving down prices.
For Truth Social, this suppressive trading could be disastrous to a platform that Americans rely on as an alternative to mainstream social media.
This behavior isn’t just about numbers. It’s about using the financial system as a weapon against a political adversary, and Cifu’s shift from supporting Trump to undermining him financially has raised eyebrows.
The question remains: Is Cifu merely chasing profits, or has he been incentivized to undermine Trump’s ventures? The shift from pro-Trump to antagonist, combined with Virtu’s opaque trading practices, is disconcerting.
Financial Manipulation and Public Deception
Beyond Truth Social, Cifu’s naked shorting sets a dangerous precedent in how the financial system can be weaponized against political figures. While shorting is common in Wall Street’s high-stakes world, naked shorting—where stocks are sold without the seller having borrowed them—raises ethical and legal questions.
Virtu Financial’s alleged involvement in this practice on Truth Social stock could suggest a concerted effort to drive down the value of Trump’s assets.
The timing is especially suspicious. With Trump’s reascendance to the presidency, these attacks on Truth Social stock remind us of the lengths some will go to for financial gain. In doing so, Cifu and other Wonder Bread WOPs reveal a pattern of manipulation that disregards the values of honesty and transparency, replacing them with self-serving tactics.
Virtu Financial’s involvement in naked shorting of Trump Media stock has fueled speculation about government-induced market manipulation. Cifu’s anti-Trump pivot happened just as Trump was regaining influence in the 2024 presidential race—a timeline that some suggest isn’t coincidental. Was this transformation an attempt to shield Virtu from federal scrutiny? Or worse, is Cifu acting as a “useful idiot” for entities like China or Iran, both known for using financial manipulation as a weapon against adversaries?
Now, all Americans should rightly be concerned about whether this manipulation is part of a more considerable effort to stymie Trump’s agenda for the nation. These actions could destabilize the platform that Trump himself has funded and promoted as an antidote to Silicon Valley's tech monopoly.
Financial manipulations like this attack not only on Trump but also on the majority of American voters who gave Trump an electoral mandate to “clean house.”
Scaramucci’s Bitter Vendetta: Personal, Petty, and Profitable
Anthony Scaramucci, the former Trump communications director, has been on a relentless mission to sabotage Trump since his brief stint in the White House ended. His attacks appear less about policy and more about deep-seated personal resentment.
Rumor has it that Scaramucci harbors lingering bitterness against Trump’s son, Don Jr., now with Kimberly Guilfoyle, a woman Scaramucci had been close to in the past. This rivalry seems to have fueled Scaramucci's pivot from Trump loyalist to one of his loudest critics.
But Scaramucci’s vendetta isn’t just personal—it’s profitable. As a seasoned Wall Street insider, Scaramucci has deep connections, giving him a powerful network to amplify his criticisms and gain financial leverage. His firm, SkyBridge Capital, navigates the same high-stakes environment as other anti-Trump financiers, aligning him with elites whose interests clash with Trump's populist appeal.
His ties to Wall Street power brokers add another layer to his attacks, making it difficult to ignore how his financial world views Trump as a threat.
Scaramucci’s position on Wall Street complicates his role as a Trump antagonist. Italians value la famiglia above all, but Scaramucci’s actions reveal a fixation on personal slights and grievances rather than the loyalty his heritage champions.
His financial success and elite connections could have positioned him as a steadfast ally to Trump’s agenda. Instead, he’s morphed from self-proclaimed Trump ally to one of his most vocal opponents—a Wonder Bread WOP who has cast honor and loyalty aside for the approval of Wall Street’s Wokesters.
Gasparino and the “Go Woke, Go Broke” Hypocrisy
Speaking of Woke, Fox Business reporter Charlie Gasparino’s anti-Trump antics add another layer to this trio’s collective disgraziad behavior. While Gasparino has frequently mocked Trump, questioning his intelligence and fitness, he didn’t hesitate to cash in on Trump’s popular slogan, “Go Woke, Go Broke,” even writing a book with the same title.
This appropriation of a Trump slogan reeks of opportunism, especially since Gasparino consistently ridiculed Trump’s chances of winning another term and frequently dismissed his policies before Trump’s historic Election Night victory.
Gasparino’s hypocrisy is especially glaring given his willingness to capitalize on Trump’s influence while denying him respect. Italians pride themselves on loyalty and respect, but Gasparino’s actions contradict these values.
It’s ironic that while he’s built a brand around profiting from anti-woke sentiments—an ethos Trump pioneered—Gasparino still publicly trashes Trump, embodying the disloyalty that defines a Wonder Bread WOP.
Gasparino’s pattern of disparagement has little to do with reasoned critique and everything to do with scoring points and making profits. For someone who spends significant time among New York’s elite - and after hours in the Financial District’s gin mills - he has little regard for the values of the Italian community that supposedly shaped him.
The Wonder Bread WOP Phenomenon
In a world where Italian-Americans pride themselves on loyalty, respect, and fierce protection of family, Cifu, Scaramucci, and Gasparino’s actions are a disgrace. They’ve abandoned Italian values in favor of a disgraziad pursuit of personal vendettas, financial gain, and hypocrisy.
The label “Wonder Bread WOP” is fitting—it reflects how thoroughly they’ve forsaken their heritage.
True Italians know that la Famiglia comes first, that loyalty matters, and that genuine respect is earned. The Wonder Bread WOPs’ willingness to undermine Trump, even through deceptive financial maneuvers, reeks of assimilation gone wrong. Cifu’s naked shorting, Scaramucci’s petty vendetta, and Gasparino’s hypocritical profiteering reveal a trio more invested in themselves than in any cause.
The Wonder Bread WOP phenomenon may be an Americanized caricature, but the real-world actions of Cifu, Scaramucci, and Gasparino prove that this stereotype holds some truth. They may see themselves as mainstream and independent, but to Italians, they are disgraziad—a wretched example of lost heritage and lost values.
As long as they continue down this path, they’ll remain Wonder Bread WOPs: a disgrace to their heritage and to the Italian-American values they should be upholding.
Reader Comment: Seriously fuck off bro
As an Italian immigrant, with VISA, i find it very disturbing the WOP comment, something we had to bear from others. We, my family and i, were hard working, went to school and college on my orwn and loyalty was paramount in our family. Really do not like what these three are doing and for them to use their platform against a man i admire, President Trump, is not okay. The trio thinks they are strong and have the mob on their side, but they do not have Italians that want to get away from that awful image and are hard working citizens. We love America. We love President Trump and voted for him, my district was almost 60% for President Trump. These 3 do not represent Italians and the connotation of Wonder Bread WOPs is terrible.
