California’s ‘Lettuce Picker Lottery’: Illegal Alien Strikes $6.7M Gold in WOKE Courtroom

Lex Luthor’s 1978 Plan Sounds Less Crazy in California’s Fruits-and-Nuts Judicial Circus
"We all have our little faults. Mine's in California."

By Richard Luthmann

In 1978’s Superman: The Movie, criminal mastermind Lex Luthor devised a scheme to obliterate California’s coastline by triggering the San Andreas Fault. His goal? Turn his worthless desert land into prime beachfront property.

Once considered cartoonish villainy, Luthor’s vision feels eerily prescient today as California descends into chaos under the weight of its WOKE policies. Illegal immigrants, skyrocketing costs, and a judicial system run amok have turned the Golden State into the Land of Fruits and Nuts.

Many claim that the state's progressive policies have driven away talent, suggesting that California's once-vibrant tech and innovation hub is now a shadow of its former self. This perspective posits that if California were to metaphorically "fall into the ocean," it wouldn't represent much of a loss since, according to this view, the state's intellectual and economic capital has already migrated elsewhere.

And if one recent lawsuit is any indicator, maybe it’s time for California to slide into the Pacific after all.

Enter Adriana Duarte Valentines, a 45-year-old illegal alien who just scored a $6.7 million payday from D.E.L.T.A. Rescue, a nonprofit animal sanctuary, reported by investigative reporter Frank Parlato of the Frank Report (frankreport.com).

Her victory, made possible by California’s tilted legal scales, threatens to shutter the organization and raises questions about whether the state’s priorities are aligned with sanity. The sanctuary’s 1,500 animals—rescued from abuse and neglect—may have nowhere to go.

Lex Luthor Was Right? California Crumbles Under Its Own WOKE Weight

Lex Luthor’s plan to let California sink into the ocean no longer seems far-fetched as the state collapses under socialist policies and judicial lunacy. Adriana Duarte’s lawsuit is a perfect example.

Adriana Duarte Valentines

Entering the United States illegally in 2002, Adriana Duarte Valentines worked as a lettuce picker before landing a job at D.E.L.T.A. Rescue in 2017. She worked under a false Social Security number and allegedly used her position at D.E.L.T.A. Rescue to steal supplies for criminal networks tied to Mexican street gangs. Yet none of this mattered in the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Judge Kristin Escalante, presiding over Duarte’s wrongful termination case, ensured the jury never learned about Duarte’s illegal status or criminal allegations. Instead, the jury saw only a “pregnant victim” wronged by her employer.

Evidence that Duarte spent “overtime” hours in the trailer of her lover—rather than caring for animals—was excluded as “prejudicial.” Meanwhile, the sanctuary’s nonprofit status was kept from the jury, obscuring the devastating impact the verdict would have.

“Judge Escalante had her thumb on the scales of justice and possibly her index fingers too,” quipped an observer.

Critics argue the case epitomizes California’s WOKE descent—a state where criminals are rewarded, victims are silenced, and the absurd is normalized.

The Lettuce Picker Lottery: A Judicial Jackpot for Criminals

Duarte’s rise to millionaire status began with lies. She crossed the border illegally, secured her job with a fake Social Security number, and allegedly sold stolen animal supplies at swap meets. Yet she convinced a jury she was a victim of pregnancy discrimination when D.E.L.T.A. Rescue declined her request to return after she abruptly resigned in 2020.

Founder Leo Grillo cited missing supplies and suspicions of theft as reasons for denying her return. Duarte’s sudden departure—followed by an unannounced pregnancy—raised red flags. Witnesses claim Duarte distributed stolen supplies to gang networks, including food for breeding dogs used by drug cartels. Yet Judge Escalante barred such evidence, declaring it irrelevant.

“California courts have become a lettuce picker lottery,” said one judicial critic, referencing the state’s penchant for rewarding dubious claims. “If you’re a criminal with a good story, you can win big here.”

The verdict’s impact could be catastrophic. D.E.L.T.A. Rescue, the largest no-kill animal sanctuary of its kind, faces closure if forced to pay the $6.7 million judgment. The sanctuary’s 1,500 animals—rescued from abuse and neglect—may have nowhere to go.

California Exodus: WOKE Policies Drive Out Companies and Citizens

California’s descent into madness isn’t limited to its courts. Businesses and residents are fleeing in record numbers. Between 2020 and 2024, over 350 companies relocated to friendlier states like Texas and Florida. Tech giants like Tesla, Oracle, and Hewlett-Packard cited high taxes, overregulation, and political instability as reasons for their exodus.

Residents, too, are voting with their feet. A recent report noted that families are leaving in droves, fed up with rising crime, unaffordable housing, and deteriorating public services.

California’s socialist future … or present?

“California has become a socialist experiment gone wrong,” said a former Silicon Valley executive. “The Adriana Duarte case is just one example of how the system rewards dishonesty while punishing the productive.”

Governor Gavin Newsom, the state’s WOKE figurehead, has doubled down on progressive policies, even as they push California closer to the brink. Newsom’s administration is drafting plans to shield illegal immigrants from deportation under President-elect Donald Trump’s upcoming crackdown.

Critics argue these efforts prioritize criminals over citizens and taxpayers.

The Fruits-and-Nuts Factor: A State Beyond Saving?

California’s transformation into the Land of Fruits and Nuts has left many wondering if Lex Luthor had a point. Duarte’s case highlights a judicial system that seems designed to reward lawbreakers.

Judge Escalante’s rulings—from excluding evidence of theft to shielding Duarte’s immigration status—embody a broader trend of WOKE activism overpowering common sense.

Leo Grillo has dedicated his life to D.E.L.T.A. so abandoned animals can live long, healthy, happy lives.

Even Duarte’s personal life was sanitized for the jury. Evidence that she spent work hours with her lover Jorge Avalos rather than fulfilling her duties was deemed inadmissible. Avalos himself disappeared shortly after Duarte announced her pregnancy, leaving questions about his role in her scheme.

The verdict’s implications go beyond D.E.L.T.A. Rescue. Critics warn that California’s legal and political landscape sets a dangerous precedent.

“This is the end of America as we know it,” said one analyst. “If California is the blueprint, the future looks grim.”

Conclusion: Sink or Swim? California’s Fate in the Balance

As California teeters on the edge of collapse, Lex Luthor’s 1978 plan to sink the state into the Pacific feels less like fiction and more like prophecy. The Adriana Duarte case—a lettuce picker turned millionaire through lies and legal loopholes—is emblematic of a state gone mad.

With businesses fleeing, residents uprooting, and a judicial system rewarding criminals, California’s future looks increasingly bleak.

Maybe it’s time to let the San Andreas Fault do its work and start over. Until then, the Golden State remains a cautionary tale—a land of fruits, nuts, and WOKE absurdity.
