It’s the kind of story you think only happens in dystopian fiction.
For Rabbi Jacob Bellinsky, a father of eight and devoted caregiver, the nightmare began with a routine divorce. Still, it spiraled into a catastrophic battle against what he calls a “state-sponsored destruction of family.”
Now, after four brutal years of separation from his children, Bellinsky is appealing directly to President Donald Trump, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and tech billionaire Elon Musk for help.
“For four years, I have been unlawfully separated from all contact with my minor children through coordinated abuse of judicial power,” Bellinsky told The Unknown Podcast in a gripping interview with co-hosts Richard Luthmann and Michael Volpe.
A Custody Case Gone Catastrophically Wrong
Bellinsky’s ordeal started innocently enough. After his divorce in 2015, he was awarded primary custody of his children. He was their rock for six years—caring for them full-time, ensuring their education, and keeping their religious traditions alive.
“We had an amicable agreement,” Bellinsky explained. “I took care of my kids every single day. They thrived—straight A’s, extracurriculars, dance, sports—you name it.”
But that peace was shattered in 2019 when his ex-wife, Rachel Zinna Galán, filed a modification request for custody of just one child. What began as a single, contested motion exploded into a six-year legal nightmare driven by what Bellinsky calls “abusive legal manipulation.”
“The first filing was denied,” Bellinsky recounted. “The court said there was no danger to my children. A new restriction was filed three weeks later, and the floodgates opened. False allegations, more restrictions—it just never stopped.”
Systematic Corruption in the Courts
Bellinsky accuses Colorado’s judicial system of orchestrating a campaign of abuse fueled by greed and backed by corrupt incentives from the federal Title IV-D Child Support Enforcement Program. He believes his case is the tip of a much larger iceberg of corruption.
“They weaponized the courts to destroy me,” Bellinsky said. “They took my children. They drained my finances. And they did it all under the pretense of protecting my kids.”
The podcast hosts dug deeper into the devastating allegations.
Luthmann pressed him on the abuse claims: “Were there any allegations of violence or harm during your marriage?”
“None,” Bellinsky replied firmly. “In fact, it was my ex-wife who physically attacked me twice. She was arrested for third-degree assault, but those charges were swept under the rug.”
Arrested Over a Text Message
Bellinsky’s story took an even darker turn when he was arrested for allegedly violating a restraining order—over a simple text message to his daughter during a Jewish holiday: “Have [daughter] call me.”
“They threw me in jail for reaching out to my child,” Bellinsky said, his voice heavy with disbelief. “That’s when I realized this wasn’t about justice—it was about power and control.”
The arrest was followed by a series of retaliatory actions, including financial devastation.
“They seized $60,000 in assets,” he revealed. “They took money from my home sale, garnished my wages, and froze my bank accounts. They made me homeless.”
Religious Discrimination and Systematic Abuse
Bellinsky’s identity as an Orthodox Rabbi became another weapon against him.
He faced blatant religious discrimination, with court-appointed investigators allegedly questioning his faith and using it against him.
“They attacked my religious beliefs,” Bellinsky said. “They dismissed my role as a spiritual leader and disrespected my family’s traditions. I wasn’t just fighting for custody—I was fighting for my faith, my culture, and my right to be a father.”
The Bigger Picture: A Broken System Fueled by Greed
In his petition to President Trump, RFK Jr., and Elon Musk, Bellinsky argues that the Title IV-D program creates financial incentives for state systems to separate children from their parents.
“It’s a multibillion-dollar machine that profits from tearing families apart,” Bellinsky wrote. “They manufacture arrears, enforce void orders, and criminalize parenthood for profit.”
Rabbi Bellinsky’s documents outline how rogue actors within Colorado’s judicial system manipulated orders, blocked accountability, and retaliated against those who tried to speak out.
Bellinsky’s case, he says, is just one of thousands.
An Appeal for Justice
On The Unknown Podcast, Bellinsky made a direct plea: “President Trump, RFK Jr., Elon Musk—I need your help. This system is destroying families across America. We need oversight, we need accountability, and we need justice.”
Co-host Michael Volpe summed it up: “If even half of what Rabbi Bellinsky says is true, this isn’t just a scandal—it’s a national emergency.”
Bellinsky’s voice cracked with emotion as he closed: “I’ve been separated from my children for four years. I’ve missed birthdays, holidays, and even my daughter’s wedding. This isn’t just a legal fight—it’s a fight for my family’s future.”
The Fight Continues
With appeals pending and petitions filed, Bellinsky refuses to back down.
His battle has now become a national call for reform—a desperate plea to end what he calls the “state-sponsored destruction of the American family.”
“The clock is ticking,” Bellinsky warned. “Every day, more families are being destroyed. This can’t continue.”
