Real reform will only come from society saying enough is enough. Divorce should be a simple process. It should just be a form to complete online. Marital property is divided. If you want to dispute it, then go to civil court. No alimony, ever. Custody should be whatever parents want. If they can't decide, then 50-50. Again, go to civil court and waste your money fighting there. Child support goes to whomever has more than 50-50 or no child support if it is 50-50.

Or a society that returns to its natural law foundation. There is no more fundamental unit than the family. There is no more basic relationship than between parent and child. Abraham's test of the Sacrifice of Isaac is the basis of our understanding of Faith in God in Judaism, Christianity, and even Islam.

Maybe what should be "split" is the interlopers from their authority.

“No enactment of man can be considered law unless it conforms to the law of God.” - William Blackstone.

Unfortunately part of the problem is what I like to call alienation ambulance chasing in the family court house. The United States has been using welfare reform and responsible fatherhood to run the family court system. The national fatherhood initiative is a 593c non profit organization for father's rights. It's taking a well meaning project and used it to increase conflict at the court house. The statistics are not broken down and project a project aimed at minority community, poverty and incarcerated fathers. The project is for all non costodial fathers. It's started out with the material gatekeepers theories by fatherhood initiative labs and experimental psychology programs. The statistics of fatherless households are not broken down. The custody cases are not the majority. According to public statics which men's rights groups don't believe. 23 percent are DV cases. Which a percentage could be false. DV perps are sent through programs. Which appear to be consider working based on mortality rates. Don't appear to follow up on violation of restraining order like in the death of Julie Mingue. The initiative on face value looks good . However if you dig deeper into assistance for parental alienation battles bringing significant financial gains to the family law industry. Much coaching is done on line making mountain into mohills. Attempting to make divorce spouse look like alienator by DV perps and controlling parents. It's all a very problematic and lucrative divorce process. Until the money is not being pumped into the industry we are going to have problems. Evidencary hearings are not held. The alienation industry is unregulated and controlling the psychological evaluations at the court house.

"They Took My Children Without Telling Me Where They Are": A Mother Speaks Out Against DHS

My name is Destiny, and I’m a mother fighting for justice after my four children were taken from me by the Department of Human Services (DHS). Last night, DHS removed my kids and placed them in foster care. They refused to contact me or tell me where my children were placed. What’s worse, they rejected five family members who were willing and able to take care of my children, leaving them separated and alone. I’ve spent the entire night in anguish, not knowing where my kids are or when I’ll see them again.

This is not the first time DHS has mishandled my case, but it is by far the most devastating. My children have been separated into four different homes, and I’ve been left with no answers. The system that is supposed to protect families has failed mine at every turn, and I can’t stay silent any longer.

DHS Coerced and Misled Me

In October 2023, DHS caseworker Katie England came to my home. She threatened me, saying I’d be labeled a perpetrator if I didn’t let her inside. I felt I had no choice but to comply. From the beginning, DHS has twisted my words, misrepresented my actions, and ignored the facts.

Even though I’ve followed every step DHS asked of me—therapy, securing a stable job, purchasing a vehicle, and maintaining a home—they still pursued a Child in Need of Assistance (C.H.I.N.A.) adjudication against me. They used my past experiences with domestic violence as an excuse to claim mental abuse, even though I’ve worked so hard to rebuild my life for my children.

My Children Were Taken Without Cause or Notification

When Ashley Johnson was assigned to my case, she removed my children from school without notifying me. There was no court order, and the removal was based on unsubstantiated claims of unsupervised contact—claims that were never investigated and had no evidence. The removal of my children felt more like punishment than protection.

DHS Failed to Protect My Son’s Mental Health

My oldest son, who has struggled with mental health issues, was supposed to finally see me after months of effort to organize a visit. However, DHS ensured that this visit never happened, despite my repeated requests. For eight months, I hadn’t been able to see my son due to the department’s lack of assistance in supporting our connection.

The day after DHS failed to bring my son to our visit, he attempted to take his own life. He was hospitalized, and DHS didn’t even notify me until the following day during a scheduled meeting about setting up interactions with him. To make matters worse, they refused to let me see him. Despite their refusal, I went to see my son after he was transferred to Kansas City, Missouri, for inpatient care.

I expressed my serious concerns to DHS about returning my son to the placement where he had previously struggled, but they ignored me. DHS knew about his history of suicidal tendencies and attempts, yet they placed him back in the same environment. The foster home failed to take necessary precautions, such as locking up medications for his protection, and he was given access to these medications.

DHS dismissed my involvement and my concerns as his mother. They denied me the opportunity to ensure my son received the proper help he needed to prevent further tragedy. Instead, they placed him back in a harmful environment without giving me any say, even though I had warned them of the risks.

The County Attorney Has Actively Worked Against Me

Years ago, the district attorney made direct threats to me, saying he would file a C.H.I.N.A. petition to take my children. Ever since then, he has done everything in his power to keep my kids away from me.

When my oldest son was first removed, I needed documentation to prove I had custody, as he had been living with me for years under a custody agreement. The district attorney, who was my attorney during that custody case, refused to provide me with the documentation. He claimed it would be a conflict of interest because he was now the county attorney fighting against me in the current case. The lack of this documentation was then used against me in court, further preventing my son from being returned home.

DHS Has Failed to Protect My Children

Since being placed in foster care, my children have been subjected to instability and even abuse. DHS ignored reports of mistreatment in their foster homes. One of my sons, who has asthma and severe allergies, was denied proper medical care and medications. My oldest son, who has ADHD, ASD, and ODD, has had his mental health needs completely neglected.

My children’s emotional well-being has been shattered. They’ve been moved between multiple foster homes—seven times in six months—and have attended three different schools in less than a year. DHS hasn’t even allowed them to maintain sibling relationships or see family and friends for emotional support.

DHS Has Refused Family Placement Without Just Cause

My family members, including my mother and siblings, were more than willing to take in my children. They passed all background checks and home inspections, yet DHS refused to place my children with them. These decisions make no sense, especially when family placement could have provided my children with the stability and love they need.

I Have the Evidence and Support to Prove DHS’s Failures

I have documented every part of my case. My attorney and my children’s attorney are fighting for us, but their efforts continue to be overlooked by the system. I also have many witnesses who are willing to testify and share their experiences about how DHS has mishandled my case and mistreated my family.

I’ve spoken with lawyers, advocates, and others involved in DHS cases, and even they are speechless at how poorly my family’s case has been handled. I’m asking for help to get my story out to the world and to bring my children back home where they belong.

All I Want is to Reunite with My Children

I’ve done everything DHS has asked of me, yet they continue to obstruct my efforts to reunite with my children. Last night’s removal has been the most heartbreaking moment of my life. All four of my children have been separated, and I have no idea where they are or when I’ll see them again.

This isn’t just about me—it’s about holding DHS accountable for their actions and ensuring no other family has to endure this nightmare. My children deserve to feel safe, loved, and supported, and I won’t stop fighting until they are home.
