Will Christopher Ambrose's Abuse Cross State Lines?
Ashley Deckert Director of Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth & Families Responds to Concerns About the Ambrose Children
NOTE: A Go Fund Me Page has been established to help Karen Riordan, a special education teacher, and her three children, Mia, Matthew, and Sawyer, reunite and achieve justice in her unequal fight against her well-funded ex-husband and a total psychopath, Christopher Ambrose. If it is within your means, please help this family.

Karen Riordan has complete discretion over the use of these funds, which will be used to:
Support the family in covering financial needs like food, clothing, and back-to-school. Ambrose hasn’t paid for his kids since April.
Hire experienced legal counsel to present a compelling case in court.
Engage qualified experts to evaluate the children’s well-being and provide unbiased assessments.
Highlight the evidence of abuse and its profound impact on the children’s mental and emotional health.
Advocate for the children’s voices to be heard and considered in court proceedings.
Promote regional and national awareness of this case so that abusers are not empowered by twisting Jennifer’s Law and similar legislation to protect domestic violence victims.

Christopher Ambrose Has Been Dangerous For Years
The Ambrose children, Mia, 16, Matthew, 16, and Sawyer, 13, are in Rhode Island. They have sought refuge with family members, fleeing the State of Connecticut and their father, disgraced Hollywood writer Christopher Ambrose, who has been dangerous for years.
Respected medical professionals like Dr. Bandy Lee, M.D., M.Div., have labeled Christopher Ambrose a “psychopath.”
The medical literature has a clear link between psychopathy and pedophilia. Department of Justice Library materials describe this link: “[T]he main aims of both the psychopath and the pedophile are to dominate, to use, and to subjugate another person in service of the grandiose self.”
The Connecticut Authorities Know All About Christopher Ambrose and Sexual Abuse
Christopher Ambrose’s adopted children have made “multiple” claims of sexual penetration and sexual abuse known to Connecticut authorities, including the Department of Children and Families (DCH).
The Connecticut courts know too. Like his other two siblings previously had done, 13-year-old Sawyer petitioned the Connecticut courts for help earlier this month. His filed and sworn handwritten statement, dated August 2, 2023, begged the Judge for help.
4. I have nightmares that Chris abducts me. Please don’t let that happen Judge Conway.
5. Chris has molested me by touching my penis and won’t stop even when I told him to stop.
6. When I report his abuse he has physically shoved and pushed me, yelled at me and takes all my belongings.
That Connecticut Judge didn’t help. None of them did.
Connecticut Judges don’t care. When they had the Ambrose v. Riordan case, Judge Jane Kupson Grossman and Gerard I. Adelman were too concerned with personal issues like arrested blogger Paul Boyne or keeping the well-oiled wheels of the Connecticut “Cash For Kids” scheme in place to listen to the children.
Just this month, Judge Thomas J. “Steal” O’Neill, most recently a commercial litigation partner at Day Pitney LLP and appointed by CT Governor Ned Lamont in March, said he didn’t want to hear from the children when Christopher Ambrose filed for a Temporary Restraining Order against Karen Riordan, a 110-pound special education teacher.
Ambrose, represented by the high-priced and “ethically challenged” law firm of Needle Cuda, said Karen was a “violent physical threat” to the children under Jennifer’s Law, a provision enacted to protect women and children, named in honor of Connecticut deceased domestic violence victims Jennifer Magnano and Jennifer Dulos.
Attorney Alexander J. Cuda, who stood side by side with Christopher Ambrose at the hearing, was previously the Chair of the Connecticut State Bar Association family law section. Cuda has received awards for work fighting domestic violence. And yet the twisting of Jennifers’ Law in the Ambrose v. Riordan case might set back victims decades, according to some activists.
On August 7, 2023, Judge “Steal” O’Neill agreed with CHOMO Ambrose that Karen Riordan was “dangerous.” He ordered Karen to have “no contact” with her children for one year. Since the children were living with their mother, genius Judge O’Neil effectively rendered them homeless.
Judge Steal didn’t read the Juvenile Court petitions, all previously filed by the three children, all alleging abuse by Christopher Ambrose. Karen Riordan could not put the children on the stand at her hearing. Judge Steal didn’t want to hear from them. He didn’t even want to read the letter Matthew had prepared and given to his mother to hand up to the Judge at court, telling the judge that his father was sick and none of the children wanted anything to do with him.
Mia Ambrose also said the same things in her petition with the Connecticut courts.
The FEDS Know All About Christopher Ambrose Thanks To NYC Private Investigator Manuel Gomez
The Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Prosecutors, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and at least one Federal Judge know all about Ambrose’s molestation of his children and his lying to federal agents. They were provided rock-solid evidence by NYC-based Private Investigator Manuel Gomez months ago.
Rhode Island Authorities are Investigating Christopher Ambrose
Now, Rhode Island authorities have evidence about Christopher Ambrose’s dangerousness. What they will do is anybody’s guess.
I know this because I, Richard Luthmann, emailed the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) about the teenage children of Christopher Ambrose and Karen Riordan, who currently live in Rhode Island.
They lived in Connecticut with their mother until August 8, when CT Family Court Judge Thomas J. O’Neill issued a restraining order barring the mother’s contact with her children.
Rather than live with their father, the teens went to Rhode Island to live with their maternal grandfather.
The Luthmann email is entitled:
“Danger to Children in RI from Psychopath, Pedophile CT father: Mia Ambrose, 16, Matthew Ambrose, 16, and Sawyer Ambrose, 13.”
Luthmann, who says the Ambrose children are “at risk from their psychopath predator father, “identifies himself as “a reporter following the story.”
Also copied on the email are RI DCYF personnel, media members, and federal law enforcement, including Kristen Setera, Public Affairs Advisor at the FBI Boston Division, which oversees Rhode Island.
Luthmann provided recent pictures of the Ambrose children and directed authorities to the Frank Report for additional information.
Here is the text of the email to Rhode Island DCYF:
Dear Sirs and Madams:
I wanted to alert you to three children in your state whom I believe are at risk from their psychopath predator father. The children are Mia Ambrose, 16, Matthew Ambrose, 16, and Sawyer Ambrose, 13.
I am also a reporter who has been following the story. I believe the children will be in imminent harm if Christopher Ambrose attempts to cross state lines and forcibly remove them against their wills back to CT.
Their father, disgraced Hollywood writer Christopher Ambrose, appears to be crossing state lines so that he can retrieve the children who fled to their grandfather’s house in Rhode Island for safety. I fear Ambrose may bring the children back to his den of iniquity in Madison, Connecticut, where underage drinking, drugs use, and sex (statutory rape) regularly occurs.
I have enclosed some materials showing Christopher Ambrose’s dangerousness:
December 15, 2020 – CT Court Report showing Ambrose as “HIGH RISK” for dangerousness.
Email dated June 6, 2023, between Attorney Michael G. Curley of Murtha Cullina, LLP, and Nancy Stewart, Kelly Burke, and Michelle Peterson of the Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF). In this email, there is a reference to “a new allegation of penetration.”
Report dated May 29, 2023, from Private Investigator Manuel Gomez to WDNY US Attorney Trini Ross’s Office and the FBI Office-Buffalo detailing molestation by Christopher Ambrose. PI Gomez describes the video evidence he transmitted to the authorities and has in his possession.
Report dated May 3, 2023, from Bandy Lee, MD, MDiv, warning of Christopher Ambrose’s dangerousness where his children are involved.
Signed statement dated May 29, 2023, of Mia Ambrose detailing Christopher Ambrose’s physically and emotionally abusive activity and improper touching. The statement corroborates the presence of men over the age of 18 (some in their 20s) with children aged 14 and 15 for “overnight” stays where there is underage drug, alcohol use, and sex.
Social Media pictures corroborating underage drinking, drug use, and sex, published in the July 20, 2023 article: “How is Wealthy Elite Christopher Ambrose of Madison, CT Involved in Underage Drinking, Drugs, and Sex?”
I further believe that Ambrose’s attorneys from Needle Cuda in Westport, Connecticut, may be in contact with the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth, and Families.
Plenty of additional information is in the public record showing Ambrose’s danger. Particularly, investigative journalist Frank Parlato has covered this case for years. Damning information about Ambrose is contained in the Frank Report coverage.
Here are recent pictures of the children:
Let me know if I can be of any further help.
Regards,
Richard Luthmann
Yesterday. Ashley Deckert, Director of the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth & Families, responded to Luthmann’s email.
Deckert wrote in reply to Luthmann:
Thank you for your report, Mr. Luthmann. I would like to acknowledge receipt of your concern. Due to confidentiality, there is not more I can provide you in terms of addressing your immediate concerns, but please know we are taking your concerns seriously.
Thank you very much.
Ashley Deckert, MSW, MA
Director
RI Department of Children, Youth & Families
Earlier today, I received word from a source that a RI DYCF Child Protective Investigator out of Providence, Rhode Island, was assigned to the case of the Ambrose children and was actively investigating the allegations.
It appears Director Deckert’s Department is taking the Ambrose children’s claims seriously. Is that because Christopher Ambrose hasn’t crossed state lines to Rhode Island yet? Or is it because in Providence and its environs, children aren’t for sale?
Are the Feds Investigating Christopher Ambrose?
The Feds have received information about Christopher Ambrose’s sexual abuse in at least three field offices in the Northeast.
The current situation might be the one that causes his case to “go federal” because he would be “crossing state lines” to retrieve his children.
The DOJ’s website says the following about sexual abuse crimes:
18 U.S.C. § 2241– Aggravated sexual abuse
18 U.S.C. § 2242– Sexual abuse
18 U.S.C. § 2243– Sexual abuse of a minor or ward
18 U.S.C. § 2244– Abusive sexual contactExcept in limited circumstances, federal laws typically do not apply to child sexual abuse matters that takes place wholly inside a single state. These matters are therefore generally handled by state or local authorities and prosecuted under state laws…
Under federal law, offenders convicted of sexually abusing a child face fines and imprisonment. Furthermore, an offender may face harsher penalties if the crime occurred in aggravated circumstances, which include, for example, the offender used force or threats, inflicted serious bodily injury or death, or kidnapped a child in the process of committing child sexual abuse.
Most federal sex crimes charges may include life imprisonment or serving up to 15 to 20 years in prison, depending upon the nature, the circumstance, and the severity of the sexual crime.
The “state line” issue here should concern Christopher Ambrose. To date, he has been insulated from scrutiny. To local Madison, Connecticut Sheriff Jack Drumm, Ambrose is as “good ol’ boy” as they come in the Nutmeg State. A wealthy “Connecticut Elite,” a former attorney for the Democratic National Committee, the brother of a high-powered New Haven attorney, and a person with a “ring” of friends around Hollywood and elsewhere - in Connecticut, Christopher Ambrose is “untouchable.”
But the Ambrose kids have crossed the border. Rhode Island authorities are now investigating. The Feds have all the information and may have their jurisdictional hook. Will Christopher Ambrose venture into the Ocean State?
Hope for Mia, Matthew, and Sawyer?
Maybe the Ambrose children have some hope today. They have separated themselves from their abuser, and they are in a safe place.
Maybe they have found the key to solving their problems with the Connecticut courts and authorities that visibly ignore abuse and aid and abet their abuser. Victims are regularly counseled to leave an abusive relationship.
Maybe the road to safety is out of the State of Connecticut - and the Ambrose children have taken the first step.

The news media is a critical check on the powerful, serving as a watchdog to hold elected officials and other public figures accountable for their actions. The media was first called the fourth estate in 1821 by Edmund Burke, who wanted to point out the power of the press. The press plays a crucial role in providing citizens with access to information about what is happening in government and by shining a light on corruption, abuse of power, and other forms of wrongdoing.
